...has been writing fanfiction for more than 40 years (UNCLE fanfic when the shows were still in first run) and slash for nearly 30. She was first introduced to some of the original Kirk/Spock stories, and cut her slash teeth with Starsky/Hutch. She took time off writing while having children, but got back to it with Highlander: the Series. Then came Lord of the Rings, with some side trips to read (but not write) Sentinel and Stargate and write gen Star Wars. She's been active in Science Fiction fandom and filking, and have been on the ConCom for Roc*Kon (Little Rock's SF con) for about 10 years now. She wrote and published poetry when she was a teenager (didn't every teenage girl in the 60s and 70s write poetry?), and has worked as a technical writer/editor for a major diy publisher. Currently she freelances as an editor/proofreader, and substitute teaches in the local schools, as well as designing knitwear and jewelry. A 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon-do, she no longer competes or trains on doctor's orders.
Born in Ventura, California, Emma grew up in Pasadena, and graduated from Cal State Fullerton (History & English). She lived in both Southern and Northern California before moving to Arkansas in 1992. Married to the first boy who ever asked her out (coming up on 33 years and counting), she has 3 children, one of whom is still at home. A large black cat called Spooky is her constant companion, and is responsible for any strange typos that may appear (he likes to sleep on the keyboard).
